Roasting is a translation. The bean carries the character of the farm — the elevation, the varietal, the process. The roast's job is not to add flavour but to reveal what is already there. Our approach is simple: small batches, careful profiles, and no coffee shipped more than a few days past its roast date.

Small-batch, at Oslo scale

Every roast is 12 kg or under. We roast to a defined profile for each coffee, then cup every batch before it leaves the roastery. If it doesn't match, we don't sell it. That is a rare luxury at industrial scale and the exact reason we chose to stay small.

Roast date on every bag

You will find the roast date printed on every bag, always. Not a "best by" — the actual date the coffee was roasted. Our subscription coffee is roasted within 48 hours of shipping. One-time orders ship inside 72 hours of the roast. That is a specialty-coffee standard we hold ourselves to at every retail order.

Coffee should never sit on a shelf. Not in our warehouse, not in yours.

Profiles by intent

Each coffee is roasted for a specific end use. Filter roasts stay light enough to preserve the acidity that gives origin its clarity. Espresso roasts go slightly deeper to build body without losing sweetness. Where a coffee works for both — Bugisu is one of these — we roast a single medium profile that carries either way.
